Mammoth Film Festival Goes Green
June 2, 2009 – 9:40 pmMammoth Lakes, CA — The Mammoth Film Festival has added a Green Film Competition to the growing annual event. The Green Film Competition, which profiles environmental films, will debut at the 3rd Annual Mammoth Film Festival, taking place in Mammoth Lakes, CA, December 9-13, 2009.
The Green competition will be held in addition to the traditional feature and short film competitions, as well as the newly added Extreme Sports film competition. In order to be eligible as a Green entry, films must have an environmental theme, such as alternative energy, ecological crises, etc. Any films produced in a significant environmentally conscious manner will also be eligible. The category is open to eligible films of any length, and the winner will receive the Best Green Film award.
“The environment is an important core value of the Mammoth community,” said festival co-founder Andreas Wettstein. “We’re excited to present this new competition against the natural backdrop of the Sierras, and we strongly believe in giving these filmmakers a venue for their work.”
Submissions for the Green competition, as well as all other categories, are currently being accepted. Full details, deadlines, and eligibility requirements are available on the official Mammoth Film Festival website, www.mammothfilmfestival.com.
