Mammoth Film Festival Courting “Condi” for Opening Night Selection
November 2, 2008 – 1:51 amMAMMOTH LAKES, CA — The Mammoth Film Festival selection committee is pleased to announce that Courting Condi has been chosen as the Opening Night film at the 2008 Mammoth Film Festival. This “unique” and “cutting-edge” film is the only entry to receive this honor, and will officially kick off the 2008 event as the first screening.
Directed by Sebastian Doggart, Courting Condi is a musical docu-tragi-comedy. Part Borat, part Fahrenheit 9/11, and part Chicago, the film follows a love-struck soul’s hilarious, emotionally engaging, and ultimately shocking quest to woo Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. In addition to Rice, the film stars Devin Ratray (Home Alone), Adrian Grenier (Entourage), Jim Norton (Monster Rain), Oscar-winning songwriter Carol Connors, Lawrence Wilkerson (Colin Powell’s Chief of Staff), and Frank Luntz (consultant to Arnold Schwarzenegger and the Bush family).
The Opening Night screening of Courting Condi is scheduled to take place at 9:00 PM on November 13, 2008, immediately following the Founders’ Reception, and will be held at the Grand Sierra Lodge at The Village. At least two additional screenings are scheduled during the first half of the festival, and further screenings are possible, depending on the outcome of the film competition.
Information on all films and screening times, as well as Festival Passes required for admission, are available at www.mammothfilmfestival.com.
