Pawn
(Jeremiah Friedman, U S A, 28min)

Following in the tradition of The Conversation, Three Days of the Condor and The Parallax View, Pawn offers a contemporary take on the political conspiracy thrillers of the 1970’s. The President of the United States has just been assassinated while delivering a speech in Los Angeles. The alleged gunman, Dr. Justin Elliot Randolph, is already in custody. The job of securing his confession will fall to Special Agent Wayne Francis, the man who originally dismissed Randolph as a threat. Though the evidence of his guilt is overwhelming, Randolph claims that he wasn’t the shooter. With just an hour to conduct his interview, Francis must delve into Randolph’s world and separate fact from fiction in order to discover the truth about the assassination. The country is in shock. The world is waiting for answers. And the clock is ticking.
