Eligibility Requirements

Below are the general requirements for all films submitted for competition at the Mammoth Film Festival. If your film does not meet all requirements, it may be eligible for the non-competitive Screening Series category, or may be considered for a film premiere or special screening.

  1. Feature films must be 48 minutes or more in length.
  2. Short films must be no more than 48 minutes in length.
  3. Films may not have been commercially exhibited prior to the Festival.
  4. Films must not have been broadcast on the Internet, or US broadcast, cable, or satellite television prior to the Festival.
  5. Films may not have any distribution deal in place.
  6. Films not in English must have English language subtitles.

Please note: the specialty competitions for Green and Extreme Sports films, and Faith-based films are exempt from length restrictions, but have specific content requirements, which are explained on the main film submission page, and in the frequently asked questions section. Also, films submitted for consideration in the Screening Series are exempt from items 1-5 above.

Please read the FAQ for more details about submitting your film, and answers to common questions.

All eligible films will be considered, but submitting a film does not guarantee inclusion in the Festival. Submissions which do not meet the eligibility requirements will not be considered. If a film is accepted into the Festival, and later found to be in violation of the requirements, the film will be disqualified. All entry fees are non-refundable, and submitted materials will NOT be returned.
