About
Mammoth Film Festival is a competitive festival. Generally, we accept independent feature-length and short films which have not been commercially exhibited, and do not have any distribution deals in place. If you have a film with prior distribution commitments or studio backing, or which doesn’t meet the eligibility requirements for some other reason, the 2008 Festival will feature a number of special screenings and film premieres. Format
The MFF feature film competition is structured in a unique elimination-style tournament format. Competing films are seeded in brackets by genre, and compete head to head to advance to the next round. All judging is done by the audience — one film is eliminated, and the favorite moves on. As films progress from round to round, they receive additional screenings. So for filmmakers this means that many films will receive multiple screenings, and the winning feature will screen more than 5 times!
Awards
Awards are given to the winning feature film in each of the four genres (Documentary, Foreign, Drama, and Comedy/Musical), and the Festival’s grand prize, Best Picture, is awarded to the top overall feature film in the competition.
Short films will compete in a contest separate from the feature film tournament, and the winner will be awarded the Best Short Film prize.
Submission deadlines and fees:
Early Entry:
Postmarked on or before July 15, 2008.
Entry Fees: features $35 / shorts $25
Standard Entry:
Postmarked on or before August 31, 2008.
Entry Fees: features $50 / shorts $35
Late Entry:
Postmarked on or before September 30, 2008.
Entry Fees: features $75 / shorts $50

- Print out and complete the official entry form. (PDF file. Requires Adobe Reader.)
- Send two copies of your film on DVD, along with the completed entry form, materials, and payment* to:
